Speaking in a chat with reporters over the weekend, he alleged that there is a lack of transparency in the management of the state’s finances. In response to the administration’s claims of numerous achievements, he challenged the governor to provide the locations of some of the advertised projects. Several reports surfaced on Sunday, alleging that the Army chief had passed away from cancer. A social media post by a journalist read: “The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has died. He passed away in an undisclosed hospital overseas nearly 48 hours ago from stage three cancer, according to a senior government official.” However, the Nigerian Army has labeled the report as false. Sources also confirmed to newsmen on Sunday that the Army chief is alive. The woman was killed in Awogwu village in the community. The victim, identified as Mrs. Chinwendu Amadi, was reportedly raped and killed inside the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport (SMICA), Owerri by unidentified hoodlums. Meanwhile, the youths of the airport community, under the aegis of Onyeaghalanwanneya Youths Movement (OYM), have threatened to ground operations at the airport in protest if the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) fails to improve security in the area and stop attacks by hoodlums on community members.
