  News   NNPCL Price Index Filling stations owned by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) have increased the fuel price to over N855 per litre across the country. Newsmen learned that this move by the filling stations followed a directive from the NNPCL management, mandating an immediate hike in the official fuel price from N568 to N855 per litre. Checks by newsmen in Ilorin, Kwara State, confirmed that filling stations complied with the directive on Tuesday morning. At an NNPCL station located in the Adewole area of Ilorin, the state capital, fuel is currently being sold at N877 per litre. In Lagos, a photograph of an NNPCL station indicated full compliance, with the new price set at N855 per litre. The manhunt operation followed an attack on Oba Police Divisional Headquarters and Oba Civic Center in the early hours of Tuesday by gunmen identified by the Anambra State Police Command as an armed secessionist group. The Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra State, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters in Awka said that the gunmen invaded the police division headquarters and the civic centre, threw petrol bombs at the police facility and shot sporadically, killing one police corporal.   News   File Image The Nigerian Army has confirmed that the President Bola Tinubu-led government has yet to pay its personnel their August salaries and allowances.     This was disclosed in a memo issued by the army authorities which SaharaReporters obtained on Monday while urging the soldiers to exercise patience, saying efforts were ongoing to ensure prompt payments of their entitlement.    The memo reads: “TEXT: LATE PMT OF SAL AND NON REG ALLCE AUG 24. DIR YOU INFO TPS THAT SAL AND NON REG ALLCE FOR AUG 24 IS YET TO BE PAID BY FGN. EFFORTS ARE ONGOING TO ENSURE PMT IS EFFECTED ASAP. TPS ARE REQ TO REMAIN PATIENT. According to a statement by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on his X handle on Monday, Napoli has reduced Osimhen’s release clause from €130 million to €75 million.
