Ruling on an application brought by LP and Dr. Alex Otti, the Presiding Judge, Justice Ita Mbaba after listening to arguments adduced by A.J Owonikoko, SAN and Ken Ahia, SAN, subsequently granted Dr. Otti's application and leave to Appeal the judgment as an interested party. Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad have arrested two women for attempting to sell a two-month-old baby. This was made known in a statement posted on the force's Twitter page on Saturday and signed by the command's Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin. The Boeing 737-800 series aircraft which the Federal Government flew into Abuja for the unveiling of Nigeria Air belongs to Ethiopia Airlines, Daily Trust can confirm. A 30-year-old painter named Zakaraya Usman has been sentenced to two months imprisonment by a Grade I Area Court in Kabusa, Abuja, for theft. Usman was found guilty of stealing four Bibles, 124 church membership forms, bottled water, and Caprisonne drinks. According to the Prosecution Counsel, O. S. Osho, the Chief Security Officer of Living Faith Church, Durumi I branch, David Usman, reported the incident to the Durumi Police Station. It was alleged that Usman unlawfully entered the church premises and stole three mini Bibles, one large Bible, two bottles of water, 14 Caprisonne drinks, 18 testimonial certificates, 124 church membership forms, security jackets, two shirts, two handkerchiefs, bags, and some cash. During the police investigation, all the stolen items were recovered from the defendant.

Gov Abdullahi Ganduje The  residence of the outgoing Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, located at Miyangu Street in Nassarawa GRA, Kano, reportedly caught fire and several damages to properties were recorded. Newmen gathered that the fire which broke out on Monday night as confirmed by the Kano State Fire Service. Residence on Fire Saminu Abdullahi, the Public Relation Officer of the State Fire Service, told newsmen that the firefighters were able to control the fire upon their arrival to the scene of the incident. According to an eyewitness who spoke on Thursday revealed that  the fire began in an area of the property where Ganduje keeps his cows. Several of the animals, unfortunately, perished in the blaze, and numerous valuable properties were also destroyed . Although the exact cause of the fire remains unclear, some sources suggest it may have started during metal welding work at the house. The work was part of an ongoing project to upgrade the governor’s residence.

Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu The Supreme Court has dismissed the suit seeking to disqualify President-Elect Bola Ahmed and Vice President-Elect Kashim Shettima over the double nomination of the latter. The suit which was filed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, claimed that Shettima’s nomination as Tinubu’s running mate was in breach of the provisions of sections 29(1), 33, 35, and 84(1)(2) of the Electoral Act, 2022. However, the five-member panel of the Supreme Court held that the PDP lacks the locus stand to institute the suit. It also stated that the PDP were not a member of the All Progressive Congress.
