Image
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has said that Presidential candidate of People Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar lacks the capacity of stopping Biafra agitation. The self determination group, which was reacting to statement credited to Atiku claiming he would stop Biafra agitation if he becomes President, cautioned him against mentioning its name during his campaign in any part of Southeast. In a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, IPOB advised Southeast politicians to warn him to stop using Biafra agitation championed by its leader, Mazi Nnamdi KANU for his political campaigns. It maintained that the only remedy to the current agitation remained fixing a date for Biafra referendum to ascertain where people from the region wished to stay. The statement reads in part, “Our attention has been drawn to the laughable and disgraceful statement credited to the PDP presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar at Enugu State where he was ranting how he would stop Biafra ...

Mr Elochukwu Ohagi, a philosopher, political analyst, writer, activist, teacher and journalist has analyzed the event playing out in a bid to blackmail the Indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB. He wrote:  “Those that kîlled the Army couple. Those that went to INEC office in Imo. “Those that went to somewhere in Anambra and robbed a bank, all used same template as those that went to Enugu and attacked Mr Peter Obi's campaign office. “ Today, those supporting Obi knew Politicians in the opposition did it. But previously, they joined hands with the politicians in the opposition to accuse IPOB. “ At least in those days they were actually together hoping that Obi can get PDP mandate. So they were ready to play dirty against IPOB.  “ They felt IPOB will be their greatest undoing. Some of them on twitter organised twitter spaces calling IPOB names. They asked international communities to designate IPOB a terrorist group. That's in something they truly know IPOB didn't do. “ Imagine a...
