Buhari led FG begins shopping for Nigeria Air, one plane to cost over N42.8bn

Nigeria is considering buying China's newly-certified C919 passenger jet, worth over $99 million or N42 billion.  The Minister of Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika, made the revelation at the United Nations aviation agency's triennial assembly in Montreal, Canada. Adding that the country's fledgling carrier Nigeria Air will have around 30 planes by 2025. Reuters reports that Sirika said the new airline would have a mixture of Airbus (AIR.PA) and Boeing (BA.N) planes, but added the carrier is also willing to look at the Chinese narrowbody jet, which Chinese regulators certified on Friday. He said;  "We haven't looked at that C919. FOUR Russian warships, three Chinese naval ships, a guided missile cruiser, spotted off coast of Alaska.

A United States Coast Guard ship on routine patrol in the Bering Sea came across a guided missile cruiser from China, officials said Monday. But it turned out the cruiser wasn't alone as it sailed about 86 miles north of Alaska's Kiska Island, on September 19. Two other Chinese naval ships and four Russian naval vessels, including a destroyer, were spotted in single formation, the patrol boat, known as a cutter called Kimball, discovered. The Honolulu-based Kimball, a 418-foot vessel, observed as the ships broke formation and dispersed. A C-130 Hercules provided air support for the Kimball from the Coast Guard station in Kodiak. The US Coast Guard disclosed the sighting on Monday in a press release.
