There was widespread jubilation in Obingwa Local Government Area (LGA) as Elder. Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, the lawmaker representing Obingwa-West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly (ABHA), once again sponsored free JAMB registration for about 300 indigent students across the state.
Speaking at the enrollment center, Comprehensive Secondary School, Osusu Amaukwa, Obingwa LGA, Elder Erondu Jnr, the founder of the Igodo Igwe Foundation, emphasized that the initiative aims to provide opportunities for students eager to further their education but constrained by financial difficulties.
Represented by his spokesperson, George Egejuru, the Chairman of the House Committee on Public Service reiterated his strong belief in the power of education. He explained that the annual intervention program is designed to ease the financial burden on parents while equipping young individuals with the tools for a brighter future.
Elder Erondu Jnr, a former Chairman of Obingwa LGA, reaffirmed his commitment to human capital development, urging the beneficiaries to embrace diligence and strive for excellence in their academic pursuits. He also expressed gratitude to his constituents for their support, assuring them of his continuous efforts to attract democratic dividends to the people.
Expressing her appreciation, one of the beneficiaries, Miss Chibundu Eberechi Mercy, lauded the lawmaker for his commitment to uplifting the less privileged. She revealed that her family had been financially strained due to her mother’s illness, making it impossible for her to register for the 2025 JAMB examination, until Elder Erondu Jnr’s intervention. She prayed for God’s blessings upon him, his family, and his endeavors.
Similarly, Master Zion Chinyere thanked the Uhie-born legislator for the support, revealing that although he had successfully passed the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), he lacked the funds to register for JAMB, until the Igodo Igwe Foundation came to his aid.
Mr. Nwandiko Victor Uchechukwu, a resident of Osaa-Okea, Ahiaba Ward Five, commended Elder. Erondu Jnr for being sensitive to the needs of his constituents. He expressed joy that his daughter, Miss Chioma Rejoice Uchechukwu, who benefited from the lawmaker’s 2024 free JAMB registration program, has now secured admission to study Science Laboratory Technology at the University of Calabar, Cross River State.
He thanked Hon. Erondu Jnr for his quality representation, pledging the community’s support for his future political aspirations.
The annual free JAMB registration initiative by Elder. Erondu Jnr continues to make a significant impact, offering hope to indigent students and reinforcing his commitment to education and youth empowerment in Abia State.
