Political stakeholders in Obingwa Local Government Area (LGA) have commended the Chairman of the House Committee on Public Service, Abia State House of Assembly (ABHA), Hon. Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, for his exemplary leadership and commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to his constituents.
The stakeholders described the member representing Obingwa-West State Constituency as a passionate leader and a worthy son of Ngwa land, adding that they have no regrets electing him into office in 2023.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting held in Ohanze, Obingwa LGA, the former Deputy General Manager of the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA), Chief Rowland Nwakanma, praised the lawmaker for his uncommon commitment to the welfare of his constituents and the state. He described Erondu Jnr as a worthy ambassador of his people.
“It takes a leader with genuine love and a kind heart to invest in his people, especially in these hard times,” Nwakanma said, thanking the lawmaker for justifying the confidence reposed in him through the ballots and pledging continued support.
Contributing, a former Deputy Chairman of Obingwa LGA, Hon. Chief Ezinwa Abiri, applauded the Uhie-born legislator for positively impacting his constituents in education, agriculture, and capacity building, among other areas, even before his election to the Abia State House of Assembly in 2023.
In his remarks, elder statesman Chief Isaac Ogbonna commended Erondu Jnr for his inclusive empowerment programs that benefit both the young and the elderly. He lauded the lawmaker’s dynamic and people-centered leadership style.
Similarly, the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Obingwa LGA, Hon. Ahamefula Egbulefu, praised Erondu Jnr for fulfilling his campaign promises, describing him as a rare gem who understands the needs of his people. Egbulefu also expressed gratitude for the newly established party offices across the constituency, emphasizing that the PDP remains the only party in Obingwa that prioritizes the interests of all residents.
The Director-General of the Igodo Igwe Campaign Council, Hon. Chidiebere Ihenyirimadu, thanked Erondu Jnr for his outstanding performance over the past 19 months in office, affirming that voters have no regrets electing him in 2023.
In their separate remarks, the PDP Woman Leader in Obingwa LGA, Mrs. Ijeoma Ngozi; the Obingwa LGA Organizing Secretary, Hon. Uchemadu Nwamuo; and the National Coordinator of the Igodo Igwe Foundation, Hon. Prince Ezenwoke Ukpom, commended the lawmaker for his unwavering support for his constituents, especially the indigent ones, during these challenging economic times. They prayed for God’s continued blessings and protection upon him and his family.
Responding, Erondu Jnr thanked the stakeholders for their support and urged his constituents to remain steadfast in their support for the PDP.
The lawmaker decried the deplorable state of rural roads in Obingwa and pledged to commence the grading of rural roads to alleviate the suffering of his people and enhance socio-economic activities at the grassroots.
The erstwhile Director of Enyimba FC reiterated that the PDP remains the only party at the grassroots that caters to the interests of women, youths, and men alike.
Erondu Jnr also congratulated those who emerged victorious in the recently held party congress and urged them to demonstrate selfless commitment to rebuilding the party. He appealed to aggrieved party members to set aside their grievances and support the party, maintaining that the PDP would reclaim power in Abia State in 2027.
He expressed gratitude for the continued support of his constituents and pledged to use every available opportunity to attract the dividends of democracy to his people.
In a bid to cushion the negative effects of the prevailing economic hardship in Nigeria, Erondu Jnr had earlier distributed Christmas and New Year packages to his constituents and residents of Obingwa and Abia State.
