Umuahia — In a gesture aimed at fostering unity within the ranks of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, the newly elected Chairman, Elder Abraham Amah, has responded to Chief Barr. Olugu Kalu Ugba’s congratulatory message with a call for collective efforts to strengthen the party. This follows the recent state congress where Elder Amah emerged as the winner of the party’s chairmanship race.

We previously reported that Barr. Oluchi Kalu Ugba, the runner-up in the recently conducted Abia State PDP Chairmanship election, extended his congratulations to the newly elected leadership of the state chapter of the party.

Elder Amah, in a heartfelt message addressed to Chief Ugba and his campaign Director General, Barr. Bob Ogu, expressed profound gratitude for their gracious acknowledgment of the party’s democratic process. He noted that their response demonstrated a commendable understanding of the spirit of political competition and a shared commitment to the PDP’s overarching mission.

“Your acknowledgment of the competitive spirit within our party reflects a true understanding of the dynamics of politics,” Elder Amah wrote. “Indeed, our shared commitment to the PDP’s vision is what ultimately strengthens our party and unites us as one formidable force.”

The newly elected chairman highlighted the importance of collaboration, emphasizing that while individual contests are part of the political landscape, the collective mission of serving the people of Abia State remains paramount. Elder Amah invited Chief Ugba and his campaign team to join hands with the newly elected Executive Committee, noting that their experience and insights are valuable assets for the party’s future endeavors.

“As we move forward under the leadership of the newly elected Executive Committee, I want to extend a warm invitation to you and your esteemed campaign team,” Elder Amah stated. “Together, we can harness our collective strengths to uplift our party and the communities we serve.”

The response from Elder Amah is seen as a strategic move to consolidate party unity following a highly competitive congress. His call for collaboration underscores the PDP’s efforts to rally its members around a common purpose as the party seeks to reclaim its influence in the state’s political arena.

Elder Amah further urged all party members to come together in pursuit of the party’s agenda, expressing optimism that their unified efforts would continue to position the PDP as the leading voice for the people in Abia State.

“Let us come together, united in purpose, to drive our agenda forward and ensure that the Peoples Democratic Party continues to be the voice of the people in Abia State,” he concluded.

The exchange of goodwill between Elder Amah and Chief Ugba signals a renewed commitment to party unity and a collaborative approach to addressing the challenges facing the PDP in the state. As the party embarks on this new chapter, there is optimism that such gestures of reconciliation and inclusiveness will strengthen its position ahead of future political contests. Long live the Peoples Democratic Party!
