In a decisive victory at the Abia PDP State Congress, Elder Abraham Amah has emerged as the new Chairman of the Abia State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). This win, backed by substantial support from party members across the state, marks a new chapter for the Abia PDP, as Amah pledges to strengthen the party’s foundation and reinforce its dedication to the people of Abia.





The highly anticipated congress brought together party members and leaders from across the state, where delegates cast their votes for key executive positions. In the Chairmanship race, Elder Abraham Amah received an overwhelming 1,264 votes, solidifying his position as the party’s new leader. Other candidates received the following votes:


• Elder Abraham Amah – 1,264 votes

• Okughu Kalu (Ishi bu Mba) – 395 votes

• Kingsley Imaga – 38 votes

• Ukwu Rocks – 1 vote


The sweeping majority for Elder Amah highlights the trust and confidence party members have in his leadership abilities and his vision for the Abia PDP.




The congress also saw heated contests for the Vice Chairmanship positions in the Central and North zones.


Vice Chairman, Abia Central:


• Onwuka – 711 votes

• Obinna – 192 votes

• Nwaogwugwu – 3 votes


Vice Chairman, Abia North:


• Gabriel Elendu – 557 votes

• Emmanuel Agwu Ukpong – 31 votes
