In a viral video, Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong expressed gratitude and reflected on the team’s recent ordeal after returning to Nigeria from Libya.

“Just got back to Nigeria with the team. I want to say a big thank you for all the support we’ve been getting,” Ekong said in the video.

He acknowledged the challenges the team faced, adding, “It’s been a long 24 hours, and we’ve tried our best to keep our spirits high. Football is all about respect, and it starts by respecting ourselves. We took a stand, and I’m proud of the team’s decision.”

Ekong also hinted at the possibility of repercussions but emphasized that the team is prepared to move forward. “We will be waiting to see the follow-up from here.
