The Super Eagles have arrived at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano State following a difficult experience in Libya ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
It will be recalled that the Super Eagles, who departed Nigeria on Sunday, encountered an unexpected challenge when their flight was diverted to a remote airport far from the match venue. This detour resulted in an additional three-hour road journey to reach their destination.

The situation took a turn for the worse as the players, pilots, and other personnel were stranded at the Libyan airport for over 13 hours without access to basic necessities such as food, water, or proper rest facilities.
Viral images showing the team sleeping on benches surfaced early Monday, sparking widespread criticism from Nigerian authorities.
After being granted clearance to depart from Libya, the team has safely returned to Kano.
More updates to follow.
