The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially announced revised dates for the party congresses in Abia and Ebonyi States, following an earlier postponement communicated to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In a fresh letter dated October 15, 2024, the PDP notified INEC of the new schedule for its congresses in the two states.

The letter, signed by the Acting National Chairman, H.E. Amb. Umar Illiya Damagum, and the National Secretary, Sen. Samuel N. Anyanwu, outlines the updated dates as follows:

Ward Congresses to elect Ward Executives and 3 Ad-Hoc Delegates will now hold on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

LGA Congresses to elect Local Government Executives and National Delegates are scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2024.

State Congress to elect State Executive Officers will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024.

This notification supersedes the previous communication issued on October 14, 2024, reflecting changes necessary due to operational challenges. The PDP expressed appreciation for INEC’s continued cooperation and urged the commission to take note of the newly approved dates.

The party also reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a smooth and transparent electoral process as it prepares for the congresses in both Abia and Ebonyi States.
