Labour Party Dissolves Abia State Working Committee, Appoints New Caretaker Leadership(DOCUMENT) | #NwokeukwuMascot

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Labour Party has dissolved the Abia State Working Committee and appointed a new Caretaker Committee to oversee the party’s affairs in the state. This decision was confirmed in a letter made available to www.nwokeukwumascot.com on Monday, October 14, 2024.




The letter, addressed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja, was signed by Labour Party’s National Chairman, Barrister Julius Abure, and National Secretary, Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim. It cited Article 13.3.B.vi of the Labour Party Constitution, which grants the NWC the authority to receive periodic reports and dissolve or reconstitute State Executive Councils/State Working Committees when necessary, pending the next state congress.




“In the exercise of the power bestowed upon us by the Labour Party Constitution, Article 13.3.B.vi, the National Working Committee hereby dissolves the Abia State Working Committee and appoints a Caretaker Committee to pilot the affairs of the party in the state,” the letter read.




The following individuals were appointed to the new Caretaker Committee to serve for a period of three months, effective immediately:


1. Dr. Prince G.O. Ndubueze - State Chairman

2. Dr. John Igbojionu - State Secretary

3. Mr. Asonye Chukwunyere - Member

4. Chief Mrs. Nkechi Ibem Kalu - Member

5. Elder Uche Achiugo - Member

6. Chief Nwachukwu Eze - Member

7. Hon. Udo Ihediwa - Member

8. Hon. Henry Ohuabunwa - Member

9. Rev. Ntachiobi Chukwud - Member

10. Apostle Innocent Adele - Member




11. Hon. Mrs. Chinwendu Sylvia Chukwenyeremaka - Member

12. Hon. Chief Amadi D.O. - Member

13. Hon. Ezekiel Emanuel - Member

14. Barr. Charles Nwandu - Member


The newly appointed Caretaker Committee has been tasked with managing the affairs of the Labour Party in Abia State for the next three months, setting the stage for further developments ahead of the state congress.
