Uju Stella, the Nigerian lady who gained public attention in 2016 after accusing Grammy Award-winning artist Burna Boy of impregnating and abandoning her, has addressed recent criticisms about her appearance.

In a social media post, Stella responded to those attacking her looks, following Burna Boy’s resurfaced comments about their alleged relationship. Stella, who had claimed in 2016 that Burna Boy abandoned her after initially accepting responsibility for her pregnancy, has since faced public scrutiny and backlash, with some social media users targeting her physical appearance.

In a defiant response, Stella posted a picture of herself alongside an image of Burna Boy, calling out those who labeled her as “ugly.” She urged critics to compare her appearance to that of Burna Boy, his mother, and his sister, asserting that beauty is subjective. The resurfacing of these events has continued to fuel debates on social media, with fans divided on the matter. Some users have shown support for Stella, while others have criticized her stance and defended Burna Boy.

Her post read: “To those of you calling me ugly, take a picture of Burna Boy, his mother, his sister, and then a picture of me. Zoom in closely and you’ll realize none of us is more beautiful or uglier than the other – we all look different in our own way. So, before you judge next time, take a good look at yourself in the mirror first.”

Stella’s remarks have reignited the conversation around her past allegations against Burna Boy. The controversy originally made headlines in 2016 when she accused the music star of impregnating her and abandoning her with the child. In his response at the time, Burna Boy denied responsibility, claiming that Stella was merely a “hook-up girl” and had been paid N20,000 after their encounter.

This latest development adds another layer to the ongoing conversation, as Stella not only defends herself against body-shaming comments but also stands by her earlier claims about Burna Boy’s behavior during their alleged relationship.
