PDP Suspends Dino Melaye Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities | #NwokeukwuMascot

Dino Melaye

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward executives in Kogi State have announced the suspension of former senator Dino Melaye.

Melaye was suspended by the PDP executive committee in Ayetoro Gbede, Ward 1, for failing to respond to an official invitation from the party. According to the ward executives, the suspension was due to anti-party activities and alleged misconduct.

The decision was made during a meeting held by the Ward 1 executive committee in Aiyetoro/Luagba on Friday, following a review of the report from a disciplinary committee established to investigate the allegations.

The suspension resolution was signed by Ward Chairman Abayomi Osamika and Ward Secretary Yodson Dayo. It stated: “Senator Dino Melaye’s conduct has brought embarrassment and disrepute to the party, and his continued membership is no longer tenable. Therefore, the Ward party exco hereby suspends Dino Melaye from the Peoples Democratic Party, effective immediately."

The suspension, the ward executives added, is in line with Article 59 (1) of the PDP constitution, which grants ward executive committees the authority to discipline members found to have violated party rules.
