The Ngwa Rangers, an organization championing the collective interests of the Old Aba Division, have commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his ongoing efforts in reconstructing the Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway and for his inclusive approach in federal appointments, which have seen the recognition of their kinsmen in strategic positions.
In a statement signed by Kingsley Ihesiaba, Publicity Secretary of Ngwa Rangers, the group lauded the administration's initiatives, including presidential grants, active processes for youth investment funds, the donation of ₦2 billion for the acquisition of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses, and the continuous provision of relief materials to civil servants in Abia State. These initiatives, they say, reflect a deep commitment to repositioning Nigeria towards a prosperous future.
The press statement reads: “We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his relentless efforts in repositioning Nigeria for a prosperous future. His steadfast support for Abia State and by extension the Ngwa Nation has been outstanding.”
The Ngwa Rangers also applauded President Tinubu’s administration for its focus on critical infrastructure development within the region, highlighting ongoing projects on the Osisioma-Ugwunagbor axis of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, the rehabilitation of the NNPC Depot Road in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area, and the Obohia Road rehabilitation efforts.
“We are optimistic that we shall soon celebrate more appointments of Ngwa sons and daughters to strategic positions in the government,” the statement added, expressing confidence in continued federal inclusiveness.
However, while celebrating these advancements, the group called on President Tinubu to establish a CNG Conversion Centre in Aba Ngwa, describing it as the "industrial heartbeat of the Southeast." According to the Ngwa Rangers, this centre would significantly boost the state’s economic prospects and contribute to Nigeria’s overall progress, particularly in the face of fuel subsidy removal and the drive towards alternative energy solutions.
“We commend the President’s focus on infrastructure development, particularly the ongoing projects on the Osisioma-Ugwunagbor axis of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, the NNPC Depot Road in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government, and the rehabilitation of Obohia Road,” the statement continued. “As we acknowledge these positive strides, we respectfully request the establishment of a CNG Conversion Centre in Aba Ngwa - the industrial heartbeat of the Southeast.”
The group expressed profound gratitude for the President's efforts to mitigate the impact of the recent subsidy removal and commended his administration’s economic growth and poverty reduction measures. They urged patience from citizens, emphasizing that the reforms implemented by President Tinubu are intended for the long-term benefit of all Nigerians.
“We are very grateful to President Tinubu for his efforts to alleviate the impact of subsidy removal while promoting economic growth and poverty reduction. His dedication to Nigeria’s advancement is truly commendable,” the statement read.
The Ngwa Rangers concluded by expressing their hope for continued collaboration between the federal government and Abia State, stressing their commitment to the development of Ngwa Land, Abia State, and Nigeria as a whole. They joined other well-meaning Nigerians in advocating patience and support for the administration's ongoing reforms.
“Once again, we express our heartfelt appreciation and look forward to continued collaboration for the development of Ngwa Land, Abia State, and the entire nation,” the statement concluded.
