Hon. Elder Abraham Amah, the immediate past Vice Chairman of the Abia PDP/Zonal Chairman of Abia North and former Acting State Publicity Secretary of the Abia PDP, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly appointed Caretaker Committee led by Rt. Hon. Dr. Alwell Asiforo Okere. 






The committee, appointed by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), is set to oversee the affairs of the Abia PDP pending the conduct of the state congresses.






Recall that we had reported on the appointment of the PDP Caretaker Committee to steer the affairs of the Abia State chapter ahead of the upcoming elections.






In his congratulatory message, Hon. Amah, who is also a favored candidate among Abia PDP faithful for the upcoming state elections, described the appointment of the Caretaker Committee as a significant step in maintaining the party’s stability and vibrancy. He commended the NWC for its foresight in ensuring that no leadership vacuum exists within the state chapter of the PDP, emphasizing that such proactive measures are essential for a dynamic political party.





“The appointment of Rt. Hon. Dr. Alwell Asiforo Okere as the Chairman of the Committee is not just an endorsement of his leadership qualities but also a vote of confidence in his capabilities, given his past achievements as the immediate-past Chairman of the Abia PDP,” Amah stated. “It also recognizes the expertise of other distinguished members of the committee who have demonstrated exceptional skills in managing party affairs at various levels.”





Hon. Amah expressed confidence in the committee's ability to steer the party's affairs in the coming months, noting that the appointment serves as both recognition and a call to further service. “As we often say, the reward for hard work is more hard work, and I trust the ability of the Committee members to direct the affairs of our party effectively.”





He urged the committee members to be mindful of the current challenges facing the PDP in Abia State and to work diligently towards uniting party members. Amah stressed the importance of internal cohesion as a critical factor for the party to regain its dominant position in Abia politics.





In addition to congratulating the committee, Amah called on all members of the PDP to rally behind the Caretaker Committee, emphasizing that collective support is crucial for the party's progress. 





“As members of this great party, we must recognize that effective leadership is complemented by strong followership. Our collective efforts are necessary to build and sustain a PDP that we can all be proud of.”






He concluded his statement by reaffirming his confidence in the committee’s leadership and urging all stakeholders to work in harmony for the betterment of the party.
