  News   File Image Dangote Group has described a statement by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited that it bought petrol at N898 per litre as “misleading and mischievous”. The NNPC earlier on Sunday announced its fuel purchase from Dangote Refinery at a rate of N898 per litre. NNPCL dispatched about 300 trucks to the 650,000-barrels-per-day capacity refinery in Lagos on Saturday, with loading operations commencing on Sunday. Spokesperson for the NNPCL, Olufemi Soneye, on Sunday told Daily Trust the company bought the fuel as N898 per litre contrary to reports claiming N760. “We successfully loaded PMS at the Dangote Refinery today. The claim that we purchased it at N760 per litre is incorrect. For this initial loading, the price from the refinery was N898 per litre,” he said.   News   File Image The Lagos State Government has sealed Donald’s, a restaurant in the Lekki area owned by popular socialite and Instagram celebrity, Pascal Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest.   Commissioner of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahaba, disclosed this on his X account on Sunday. According to him, the action was taken after several warnings due to noise pollution and other environmental infractions.   He added that the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) had issued several warnings to the eatery but it failed to adhere to them.   “After several warnings and abatement notices, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency #LasepaOfficial sealed Donald’s Fast Food on Adebayo Doherty Street, Lekki 1 over noise pollution and other environmental infractions,” he posted.

The new directive requested that all nurses must tender their employment letter before being verified by the portal. A caveat on the newly opened portal reads: “Required: An email requesting a Letter of Good Standing addressed to the Registrar/CEO from Head of Nursing in the Organisation signed by the head of nursing will be sent to the provided email address.”      The latest step by the NMCN is in total disregard to a subsisting order given by the House of Representatives, directing the NMCN management to open the verification portal without any restrictive guidelines.     The House of Representatives had ordered the NMCN to suspend the implementation of the guidelines pending an investigation into the controversy surrounding them.     The NMCN's verification process is a critical step for nurses and midwives seeking to practise i
