Residents of Aba, the commercial hub of Enyimba City, are staying indoors due to escalating security concerns in the area.

A visit by Newsmirror to several major roads revealed an unusual calm, with streets largely deserted and a notable absence of public protests.

Local residents have expressed their apprehension about the rising insecurity but clarified that their decision to stay indoors is not linked to any organized protest or demand.

Instead, they are urging for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, a prominent figure whose detention remains a contentious issue.

The heightened sense of insecurity has overshadowed other activities, leading many to remain in their homes as a precautionary measure.

The situation reflects a broader climate of uncertainty and concern among the city’s inhabitants.
