In response to a recent directive from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), issued on July 19, 2024, Fidelity Bank has made an urgent appeal to customers with dormant accounts to reactivate them promptly. This directive by the CBN mandates that funds in dormant accounts could be transferred to a centralized pool account at the CBN unless a reclaim request is made by the account holder.

The CBN's directive highlights the critical need for maintaining account activity, as prolonged dormancy could result in funds being moved to a holding account, potentially complicating the process of reclaiming them.

To ensure that customers' funds remain within reach, Fidelity Bank has laid out several convenient options for account reactivation. Customers can submit a completed reactivation form along with the required documentation via email to true.serve@fidelitybank.ng or visit any Fidelity Bank branch.

The required documents for reactivation include:

- CAC Documents

- Valid Identification, BVN, and NIN of directors and shareholders (where applicable)

- Utility bills

- Reference letters

In conjunction with this reactivation call, Fidelity Bank has also announced enhancements to its services and channels, designed to offer an improved and more seamless customer experience. The bank assures its customers that these upgrades will result in smoother and more efficient banking services.

Fidelity Bank has stressed the importance of acting quickly, reminding customers that failure to reactivate their accounts within the next three months could result in their funds being transferred to a holding account in accordance with CBN regulations.

For any inquiries or further assistance, customers are encouraged to contact Fidelity Bank’s dedicated support team at 070034335489 or via email at true.serve@fidelitybank.ng.

Fidelity Bank remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the security and accessibility of its customers' funds, while continuing to deliver exceptional banking services.
