Ahmadu Fintiri
Workers in Adamawa State are in jubilation mood after confirming that they were paid the new N70,000 minimum wage, recently signed into law by President Bola Tinubu.

Despite reservations from many governors about the economic feasibility of the increased wage, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has commenced payment to the Adamawa State workers starting from August 2024.

Local government workers are also slated to receive the new minimum wage from September 2024.

This move has been met with widespread jubilation among civil servants in the state, making Adamawa the first northern state to implement the new minimum wage.

The implementation of the new N70,000 minimum wage in Adamawa State has been confirmed by multiple sources who spoke with Daily Trust, including state workers who have received their updated salaries.
