In the wake of a tragic suicide bombing that claimed six lives and injured several others at a wedding in Gwoza, Borno State, the Nigerian military has declared a curfew in the area. The bomb attack, which occurred in Mararaba, Gwoza town, has left the community in shock and mourning.

The initial bombing was carried out by a young woman in her early twenties, who detonated her explosive device in the middle of a wedding gathering, causing widespread chaos and destruction. The Borno State Commissioner of Police, Yusuf Lawal, confirmed the incident, highlighting the severity of the attack.

Tragically, as the community was preparing for the funeral of the victims, a second suicide bomber, disguised as a mourner, detonated another explosive device. This secondary attack resulted in the death of at least one more person and injured 16 others, who were quickly rushed to the hospital for treatment.

In response to these heinous acts, the Nigerian military has imposed a curfew in Gwoza to prevent further threats and ensure the safety of residents. The curfew aims to facilitate a thorough sweep of the town to neutralize any remaining dangers and restore order.

These attacks underscore the persistent security challenges faced by the region, with authorities urging residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security forces during this critical period.
