The officers were sighted in a viral video assaulting the hotel employee in an early morning sting operation on Thursday, June 27, 2024. Olukoyede ordered the arrest of the two officers and has directed them to appear before a joint disciplinary team comprising the Appointment, Promotion and Disciplinary Committee (APDC) and the Department of Ethics and Integrity. They are billed to appear before the team on Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Corporate Headquarters of the Commission in Abuja. We have also seen an upsurge in kidnapping, car jacking, armed robbery etc in different parts of the state. The situation does not bode well for our state.  My sincerest condolences to families of the victims of the Aba killings, the affected security agencies, the government and indeed the people of Abia State. We can only work and pray for the restoration of enduring normalcy in the state.
