In a heartwarming display of unity and family support, the widow of the late former Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has found love once again.
Following the decision made by the Emeabiam Community in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State, Betty has been embraced by her late husband's younger brother, Professor Wole Akeredolu. This symbolic gesture signifies the family's desire to continue having her within their fold even after her husband's demise.
As per tradition, customary offerings of kolanuts, palm wine, and a she-goat were presented to the Umuegeolu kindred by the Akeredolus. This act of respect and adherence to tradition further solidifies the bond between the families.
Expressing his gratitude, Professor Wole Akeredolu extended his appreciation to the Umuegeolu kindred and the entire Emeabiam Community for their hospitality. He reassured everyone of the Akeredolu family's commitment to continue caring for Betty, acknowledging the support received during the mourning period and the interment ceremony held in Owo.

The Mgbafu Mkpe ceremony, a traditional Igbo practice, serves as a poignant symbol of the widow's transition back to her husband's family. It involves the mutual agreement between both families, with rituals performed accordingly.
This beautiful union not only honors the memory of the late Rotimi Akeredolu but also showcases the strength of love and support within the Akeredolu family and the community as a whole.
