Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has implemented significant changes at Ebonyi State University, reducing tuition fees by 10% and raising salaries for academic and non-academic staff by 20% and 10% respectively.
Indigenes graduating with first-class honors are now guaranteed employment as graduate assistant lecturers. Governor Nwifuru also increased the university's monthly subvention from N200 million to N280 million to enhance staff morale and educational access.
Encouraging graduates to contribute to the state and nation, he emphasized the importance of deploying locally derived solutions to address domestic challenges before seeking external aid.
His words: “You have acquired skills to keep you afloat, not to sink. Having undergone intellectual rigours, you are now equipped with survival skills and ready to solve the problems in the country.
“May I urge you to be good progressive ambassadors,” he said
