 Okigwe, Imo State -The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has vehemently refuted the claims made by the Nigeria Police, Imo State command, regarding the clearance of an alleged camp operated by IPOB/ESN (Eastern Security Network) operatives in Umulolo at Okigwe and Owerri environs. In a press release issued by the IPOB spokesperson, Comrade Emma Powerful, the group accused the Nigerian government and its security agencies of spreading propaganda and collaborating with criminals.

According to the statement, Powerful said that IPOB has repeatedly distanced itself from the criminals operating in the Okigwe and Owerri axis, calling them out as agent provocateurs funded by the Imo State Governor and other politicians and businessmen. The group condemned the camp and activities of these criminals, who they believe are working in tandem with a double agent based in Finland.

Powerful clarified that the Eastern Security Network(ESN) does not possess any camps in communities such as Okigwe, Mbaitolu, Arindizogu, Orsuihiteukwa, and Ihitenansa in Imo State. Furthermore, he affirmed that camps in Orsumoghu, Lilu, Ukpor, Ezinifite Nnewi, Unubi, Akwaihedi, Umunze, Isseke, Mbosi, Ihiala, Azia, Okija, and Uga in Anambra State are not affiliated with ESN. The group categorically stated that any group operating camps in these areas are either organized criminal gangs or agent provocateurs working with the government's double agent.

The IPOB spokesperson criticized the Nigerian Police, labeling them as the worst police institution in the world. They urged Nigerian citizens and the international community not to take their claims seriously. The group accused the security forces of sponsoring insecurity in Biafra land to blackmail IPOB, warning that this would lead to the loss of their relevance and leave Northern Nigeria vulnerable to terrorist attacks.

The press release also highlighted the alleged barbaric actions of the Nigerian government and its security agencies in burning and destroying the properties of innocent Biafrans in Umulolo communities, Okigwe LGA. IPOB condemned the behavior of the security forces, likening them to terrorists and accusing them of ethnic cleansing against the Ndigbo people. The statement emphasized that ESN operatives do not engage in criminal activities or operate indiscriminate camps, but rather focus on protecting Biafrans against Fulani terrorists disguised as herdsmen.

The statement reads in full: “The global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by the great and indefatigable leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wishes to debunk the fallacious claims from the Nigeria Police, Imo State command that they have cleared the camp of IPOB/ESN operatives in Umulolo at Okigwe and Owerri environs of Imo State.

“The Nigerian government and her murderous security agencies can not continue to claim ignorance of IPOB’s repeated disassociation with the criminals operating around the Okigwe and Owerri axis. We understand that the Nigerian Police are working with the agent  provocateurs to blackmail IPOB. But we are always ahead of their games.

“In our previous press releases, we have called out the criminals and agent provocateurs heavily funded by the Imo State Governor and some politicians and businessmen and women, who operates camps at Umulolo and other parts of Okigwe LGA in Imo State. We have publicly condemned the camp and activities of the criminals working with the government’s double agent in Finland. Hope Uzodinma is funding those criminals to blackmail Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB to please his Fulani Masters. Their plans have been exposed time and time again.

“For emphasis sake, ESN does not have any camp at the following communities; Okigwe, Mbaitolu, Arindizogu, Orsuihiteukwa, Ihitenansa Imo State. Also, we do not have camps in Orsumoghu, Lilu, Ukpor, Ezinifite Nnewi, Unubi, Akwaihedi, Umunze, Isseke, Mbosi, Ihiala, Azia, Okija, and Uga Anambra State. Any group operating any camp in the above-mentioned areas and communities are not ESN Operatives. They are either organized criminal gangs or agent provocateurs working with the government’s double agent in Finland. The Nigerian government and her fraudulent Security Agencies know the truth but chose to blackmail IPOB/ESN.

“Nigerian Police ranked as the worst police institution in the world can’t be taken seriously by Nigerian citizens, let alone by the international community. The more they keep sponsoring insecurity in Biafra land to blackmail IPOB, the more they lose their leftover relevance and leave their flanks open in the Northern Nigeria to be ravaged by the terrorists  from the sahel as prophesied by the great prophet,  Mazi Nnamdi KANU. Thanks to Chukwu Okike Abiama that IPOB will always publish the activities of their sponsored criminals impersonating IPOB and ESN before they come with their blackmail. 

“It is barbaric that the Nigeria Government and her murderous Security Agencies will burn and destroy the properties of innocent Biafrans in Umulolo communities at Okigwe LGA of Imo State in pretext of looking for the same criminals they are colluding with. The Nigerian Security Forces behave like terrorists that they really are in handling security challenges in the southeast. Our people should know that Nigeria Security Agents will come to chase these criminals on their way coming they release series of gun sound to inform them that they are coming. After that they Nigeria police and military will come out and issued a press release that they cleared ESN ESN camp while those they attacked are arrange. Only terrorists burn houses and properties of their victims. In the case of Southeast, the terrorists here are the Nigeria Security Agencies who have burnt over 1000 homes and have murdered or disappeared over 12,000 innocent Biafrans in pretext of going after criminals since 2016. IPOB considers the actions of Nigerian Security Forces in the Southeast as a barbaric and ethnic cleansing agenda against Ndigbo.

“ESN Operatives do not engage in criminal activities and do not operate indiscriminate camps. ESN Operatives specialises in pursuing fulani bandits nick named herdsmen. ESN operatives are disciplined and focused on protecting Biafrans against Fulani terrorists invasion under the guise of the terrorist herdsmen. Self-defense and self-preservation are  inalienable rights. It’s obvious that the Nigeria military and Police are colluding with murderous Fulani terrorists herdsmen to destroy ESN’s defense using media and infiltrators. But we assure them that no amount of military/police attacks or media blackmail will stop ESN from securing our land from marauding Fulani herdsmen and their collaborators’’. Powerful stated.
