Abia Student Leaders |
Student leaders from various tertiary institutions in Abia State find themselves stranded on the streets of Abuja due to the lack of support from the Abia State Government. This lack of assistance has hindered their ability to fully participate in the ongoing National Convention of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) currently taking place in Abuja.
In a conversation with our correspondent, the student leaders expressed their dire situation, stating that they are facing extreme hunger as they lack both food and transportation funds to attend the convention.
Tragically, some student leaders who were unable to secure transportation funds were unable to attend the convention at all.
Furthermore, it has been discovered that the candidate from Abia State, vying for a national office, is struggling due to a lack of sponsorship.
Unlike other state governments who have fully supported their students for this convention, Abia State has failed to provide the necessary assistance.
“We are urgently calling on Governor Alex Otti to come to our aid. We need support in order to successfully participate in this convention, which concludes on Friday, December 1, 2023,” pleaded the students.
